Constipation Do’s & Don’ts
These tips can help you conquer constipation forever. Incorporate the Do’s into your life, and you will begin to notice improved elimination patterns.
Do
- Eat your main meal early in the day – at midday , rather than in the evening.
- Drink at least 8 – 10 glasses of filtered water each day.
- Chew your food 20 to 30 times per mouthful.
- Follow food combining rules.
- Use digestive enzymes when you mis-combine foods or eat too much protein.
- Use fibre rich intestinal cleanser.
- Promote the friendly bacteria in your intestines by using probiotics.
- Exercise regularly – walk, swim, use the trampoline etc,
- Use breathing exercises at least three times each week to relax the abdominal organs.
- Practice yoga postures at least three times each week to tone and stimulate the digestive organs.
- Use tummy massage to help elimination and to locate tense areas. “Heed Natures Call”. When you feel the urge to use the toilet, use it! Establish the habit of moving your bowels at a specific time each day.
- Consult a Certified Colon Hydrotherapist, use colonic irrigation as needed to cleanse and tone the colon.
- Devote time each day to relaxing quietly and paying attention to managing your stress.
- Get enough sleep – 6 to 8 hours a day is the usual requirement for most people.
- Think positive thoughts – use affirmations.

- Ignore food-combining principals.
- Drink liquids with meals.
- Give into worry or stress.
- Put of “heeding the call”.
- Take laxatives regularly. These cause irritation to the colon which may have long term damage.
